This recipe is from my Aunt Mary. She lived in Missouri until her death. She was a wonderful lady, (my mom’s youngest sister) and she looked so much like mom and sounded so much like her on the phone that it would bring tears to my eyes when I would talk to her.
•1 cup butter (or margarine or Crisco)
•1 cup brown sugar
•1 cup white sugar
•2 eggs
•2 teaspoons vanilla
•1 1/2 cups flour
•1 teaspoon baking powder
•1 teaspoon baking soda
•1 cup quick cooking oats
•2 cups rice crispies.
Cream together butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add the sifted mixture into the creamed mixture, combining well. Stir in the oats and rice crispies. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 10 – 12 minutes.
